While trying to recover some of my long-lost posts from the Internet Archive I was reminded of this idea from Tim Van Damme. I figured being almost 10 years since I posted that it would be worth updating.
URL ABC 2019 edition:
A: https://app.plex.tv/desktop
D: https://dashboard.heroku.com
H: https://www.hiyacar.co.uk - Obviously!
I: http://infrequentmiscellany.substack.com
M: https://mailtrap.io/inboxes
N: https://news.ycombinator.com
O: https://search.google.com/search-console
S: https://share.geckoboard.com/loop/[REDACTED]
U: https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/hiyacar.co.uk
Some observations:
- All but one of these are now running on HTTPS, that's a big change over 10 years
- Only 2 of these are unchanged since last time
- fast.com was ranked above Facebook, I guess reflecting how little I use Facebook in a browser
- I doesn't seem very popular, second hit was the GitHub Issues page for a project I reported a bug on very recently
- O is still not a popular URL, this URL only comes up because the page title is Overview
